Merry Christmas all the way from Dunn, North Carolina!

Hey Y'all,

Yep! If you didn't already know I got Transferred again!!! I have now 5 areas in where I have served! But that is okay! I am in Dunn and the Ward is great! They are so loving and caring for the missionaries! Today they are even willing to go to Wal-Mart with us so me and my new companion can get presents for each other.

So my new companion is Sister Beard! She is amazing! She is so cute! She has been out for 6 months! She is a great missionary and great at leading out of this area. We are over 16 towns by the way and so she is great at making sure we are staying within our miles limitation. She is really helpful with helping me learn the area and the people. She is great and is a really hard worker. She has found out some bad news from home this past week and I know once again that I have gotten my new companion because I need to be here for her just as we need each other. We are doing great work here!

This week has been full of many miracles! WE got new investigator contacted a lot of referrals, and had success while tracting. It is so great and I mean great! I have never really liked tracting but I can see the blessing and the blessing of God when we do the hard things in the work.

Wednesday, we contacted a former investigator family and right away the mom let us in and we talked. She brought up the trinity and asked us for our church's view on it. She keep explaining it to us but I just kept getting confused. We let into the book of Mormon and she said she doesn't really believe Joseph Smith could have translated it because there was no way he could translate the language it was in. He had to write it. We have a lot of studying to do and how to explain it. She also brought up that Christ literally is the "word." Again I was confused and we have a lot to stuff. They are really interested in the Plan of Salvation and are excited for us to come back after Christmas which give us some time to prepare.

Thursday was one of those days that I felt would never end. We were inside all day doing Weekly planning and then we had dinner and went to the church and parked and then went Tracting! It was really frustrating when no one was home and one we talked to wasn't very nice. We were going back towards the church and we saw someone pull in to there garage and someone sitting on the porch steps. WE decided to got talk to them. Which I am so glad we did. WE got there and started talking to them, talked about Christmas. We shared Ether 12:27. Which really opened them up to us. We were getting ready to leave and left the Christmas video card and said it was all from the bible in Luke 2. WE then started talking about the Bible and that lead to the Book of Mormon the husband liked the idea that Christ came to us here in the Americas. We plan to see them on Christmas and bring them a treat! Really I saw God bless us with a miracle. We both had the faith and we both were being diligent. We were scared but "WE can do hard things!"

Sunday was a great day too! We had choir and got ready for our program. Luckily we were singing songs I already knew. In Sacrament we sang hymn then in between we had talks all about Christmas. The spirit was so great! And in Relief Society before we closed the sisters gave us each a big bag that said "Let it snow" It was our Christmas from the ward. It is pretty heavy and I am so tempted to open it! It was great to get it and be so new to the Ward! I love this Ward and am so glad that I get to be here for Christmas as much as I wanted to be in Cary! I am grateful that the Lord knows me enough to know what I need!

So I hope everyone has a great and Merry Christmas! To those who have kids on missions too! I hope you enjoy to see them on Skype! I can't wait to see mine! Love you all! I hope that Christmas finds you happy and full of the wonderful Christmas Spirit! Remember "The Reason for the Season." Without whom Christmas wouldn't exist! Love you all!

P.S. Congrats to Mekena and Taz! I hope tomorrow is a great and fabulous day and one you two will never forget! I hope you the best Christmas present with the happiness of your wedding tomorrow! Love You!

Another Transfer Already!

Hey Y'all,

So first off you will all never believe it! I am getting Transferred.......again! At this rate I may be getting transferred every transfer. This week we had lots of meetings, and it was the Stake Nativity week!

Wednesday we had our Zone Training! It was a very great experience. We didn't have instruction..... we did but we were teaching ourselves. We were given three sheets of paper with lots of questions on them. One saying our "Pre-mission."  The other with our "first day in field and to Now", and the third one with "from Now till the End of our missions." It was hard to see how much of a slacker I really was before my mission, but it was also so great to see how much I have grown since then. I never got to the "Now till end of my mission." But I hope to be able to set goals for the rest of my mission. I remember going through the questions and pondering about them and if I really felt like I was doing my best. At some places I felt like I could do better and others I saw how much I learned from doing a hard thing. We got to walk over to the temple and continue to ponder. Being on the temple grounds helped me receive the revelation I needed! It helped me put things in perspective. I still have lots to work on for the next 6 months but I will "Covenant" to do my best and try to make the last bit I have left to make it worth the time and effort. I noticed just how much Christ is and has been with me. Getting on a mission in the first place wasn't just me or very pushes from others. Christ influenced me and helped me move toward it. I hope with the new year I can continue to do my very best and continue to serve the Lord more completely with all my heart, might, mind and strength.

Thursday was probably our busiest day. We had our Christmas Zone Conference! Sister Wilson and I did a great job on our song. Only that the other missionaries got a early look because when we practiced the mic was on and everyone at lunch could here us in the dining room from the speakers. We had two parts of the Conference. The first part was the instruction but instead of us practicing teaching it was more like a devotional where people came to talk to us and we got to listen. We had great speakers. We had one man who had just gotten baptized recently. He has cerebral palsy and he had to have his talk read to us, but It was amazing to see just how much the gospel can change someone. He is planning to serve a service mission soon too. He reminded me a little of myself as how I have had disabilities but that I haven't allowed my disabilities to disable me from doing what I want to do in life. He told us of his hard family life and I could see just how much his family needed the gospel. They haven't accepted it but they will someday. I was so touched by his desire to change and his new desire to share the gospel. He truly is a great example and strengthened my testimony on knowing God only gives us the trials he knows we can handle. I am sure there was no dry eye in that room. We got to hear from a mom who talked about parenthood. At first it was weird but she talked about her son who has severe Autism and how things have change her and her family but just how much more in return she has been blessed.

Saturday was when we heard the bad news of me leaving but we got to go to the Nativity activity. They had so many beautiful Nativities set up from such willing members and great photos of the Savior. They had a Stake Orchestra, Choir, and the Choir sang Messiah. It was a great opportunity and brought back memories. We only got to go if we had an investigator or Less active go and we were ready then our person canceled on us and we were so sad to realize we couldn't go but our investigator went with a member and we got a ride. It was great to walk around with her and feel of the amazing spirit that was there!

As much as it is hard to hear that you get transferred especially right before Christmas and which means I have to leave Sister Wilson we got to have an early Christmas. We had already gotten presents for each other. I got a lot of Frozen stuff and a really cute piggy. I am glad to know that she knew me so well. We both felt that way as I got her Star Wars Pajamas and I made her a Book of Mormon Cover with her favorite colors. It always hard to leave an area but I know that where President James has me go I will be where God needs me most. I feel though that things are starting to get harder and my motivation is lacking. I don't feel like I did my best here in Cary and I feel bad for not absolutely giving my all. I hope that from the things I learned this week that I can make these last six months being my best and most hard work ever! I love you all!

Sunday is Always My Favorite!

Hey Y'all,

Another week gone and away and only 18 days till Christmas! I am so excited to be able to remember why and teach about our Savior especially around this beautiful time of year. I love the new video the Church has put out about our Saviors birth. They even put out a cartoon that describes why we have a Savior and what life would be like if we had no Savior and it really makes you think. I would totally look it up and watch them both.

I wanted to start with Sunday this week. Sunday is always my favorite and I always save the best for last but today I wanted to share the favorite first. So yesterday we had a great fast Sunday at church and we had great testimonies and lots of new faces to the ward and new faces to us and glad to be able to know that we are not failing completely at meeting all the members. We had a great Sunday School lesson on the signs of the second coming and how the signs are preparing us for Christ to come and how scary it may be but we then can truly feel at Peace. We had a great lesson in Relief Society on the Spiritual welfare and we talked about the Welfare program. I have had the opportunity to help be a part of that by in the Apex Stake to help give the food from the church to those who need it. It is great to serve them and see the gratitude and the desire to give back. It shows how much God loves us all and wants the best for us and our families. We then had a great lesson with our 16 year old Investigator at the Bishops home with his Wife in the lesson with us. We talked about Baptismal Covenants and went over the Baptism interview questions. She open up to us and was very truthful. She asked great questions. You can tell she really wants to know and continues to do her best. She is hard on herself because she feels that she has done bad things and not sure that when the time comes she will be worthy. It made me think just hoe much love God has for us and truly just how much of a blessing receiving the Holy Ghost is. I had a thought come into my head as we talked to her telling her that she doesn't have to be PERFECT which was that this is why we don't need to be perfect so we see how important Baptism is and when we are following the commandment to be baptized God shows his gratitude and continued love through allowing us to receive the Holy Ghost and allow him to be with us. We watched the Christmas Devotional at a less actives house and got her computer set up for Skype to Skype home on Christmas. She was excited that we wanted to do it here with her at her house. She is going to be alone on Christmas and we thought she might enjoy the company.

Saturday we got to see some Sisters from the Garner ward who came to see us and we brought the Hermanas, which one of them is Sister Ibarra and so we all got to have a great dinner with them and I finally got my birthday present from them. It is a Harry Potter shirt as they remembered that my birthday is the same as his. It was great to see them and hear that someone who I found is getting baptized this Saturday and that we are able to go. So excited to be able to say that I was a part of it. Also, I heard someone I taught in Pembroke got married and then Baptized on Saturday night too! We had a correlation meeting with our new Ward Mission Leader. He is great and actually amazing he and his wife was just blessed with two new baby twins and he is already wanting to jump full swing into his calling. He wants to help us as much as possible. He even wants to go wit us to see one of our investigators and come teach with us. I have never had that happen before.

Friday was our Ward Christmas Potluck and Sister Wilson and I got all prettied up and curled our hair and wore our Santa Hat I got from mom. We looked from festive and we kind of stood out from everyone else but everyone loved that we were excited to come and celebrate. We got to take pictures with the ward and got to meet more of the members.

Thursday we got a visit from Mama Ang from Pembroke who drove 2 hours to see us and bought us lunch and we had a blast! I miss her so much and I am so glad to have made such great relationship with people from past areas.

Well, like I said Christmas is in about 18 days and that means our mission is having a Christmas Zone Conference this Thursday and Sister Wilson and I will be singing "Mary's Lullaby" We are both nervous but excited and so excited to be able to be with the missionaries and focus on the reason for the Season and feel the spirit as we talk about our savior. I hope you all have a great week and I hope you all can feel the spirit as you make this time of year wonderful and something to remember!

Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Hey Y'all,

I hope you all had a great week and a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had lots of fun this week and had a great Thanksgiving with the Ward members at the church. The members came together for those who didn't have family close or who lived alone. It was great and great food and with Sister Wilson's allergies  some members made some stuff for her. So sweet! We then got a ride to the mall and since we couldn't go out to tract we went to the Mall to contact people. It was my real first Black Friday experience and now I know why I don't! It was crazy. In Macy's it looked like a Tornado came through it. It was crazy! I did get some Winter boots though from Payless now I won't be wet this year. We talked to a lot of people but no one was really interested to talk. We gave out a lot of the new Christmas cards.

This week we focused on trying to find new investigators and went tracting. I am not a big fan of them but Sister Wilson is really good at them. We have lots of funny stories to tell now though. Like one guy yelled at us that he couldn't come down from his window upstairs, someone didn't want to talk to us about the Catholic religions because he only shares it with his family, and a lady asked us if we had our permits for the area to be able to do this. We talked to probably 20 people and we only got 1 person to accept a Book of Mormon and a return appointment. I could really see the Lords hand in the work that when we got discouraged we were ready to just go back home and just decided to do a couple more and found someone. It was a great Tender Mercy!

On Tuesday we had exchanges where I stayed here in Cary and boy that was scary but the exchange went really well. Our Mission President has changed the rule where we only have one sister leader and so we have to go on to exchange during the transfer. The Sister training leaders are like a district leader now. Kind of weird but I like it. We saw a lot of our Less active and our Recent Convert. Our recent Convert is amazing and I love going to see her she has toys like none other. She has tinker toys, pigs that race (fur animals I think is what its called, link-in' logs, and lots of old movies. I am impressed with myself when she would show us all her movies and I know most of them. We are working toward her going to the temple to do baptisms and getting her Patriarchal Blessing.

On Wednesday we had our monthly Zone Training! It was amazing and probably my favorite now. It was all based on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We were all combined together and our Zone leaders had us do a group discussion teaching someone about the Atonement by reading a scripture and then giving a question. Then we all got put into small groups and did a ration with different instruction from the district leaders and Sister Leaders. At first I didn't like it since the ones teaching didn't get to do it and that it would be hard. But it was great being able to have a longer time to role play and actually have a discussion. I think they will do it again and I hope so.

It's crazy to think that tomorrow is December first and then it will be Christmas before we know it! I can't wait for the season and to be able to experience it as a missionary and focus on the birth of the Savior. I also then realize that when Christmas is here my year mark will soon be here too. It is crazy to think that I will have been a missionary for a year. I am scared and not sure I will want to come home when the time comes and I hope that the last bit of my time I will continue to enjoy every minute of it and learn and grow so much! I am so grateful for the knowledge of this gospel and so grateful for all of you who have been so great in supporting me while I have been serving! I have come to see just how true this Gospel is and how it changes others but also changes me. I never thought I could say that I love the hard days as a missionary since they are my best days that I learn from the most and what I have grown up learning being put to the test! I love this chance to be here and I am so excited to be able to focus on the Savior and the reason fro the season. I can't wait to for our stake here in Cary to do the Nativity. It is just like the North Stake does with all the music and Nativity scenes. Love you all and I hope that you all will be able to remember the wonderful time of year and that you get to spend it with the ones you love! Love you!
